OSCEOLA, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 10-month-old baby.
Police say around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, they were called to a home on Byrkit Drive in Osceola. The woman who was watching the girl found her not breathing.
The infant was transported to Elkhart General Hospital and later pronounced dead.
The baby's father says she was at an in-home daycare when the incident happened.
The Elkhart County Coroner's office says an autopsy revealed the baby died of natural causes.
But, police and the Department of Child Services are investigating to determine what caused the baby to stop breathing.
Blood test results could take weeks to come back.
The woman who was caring for the baby at the time declined to comment.
