The Stanley Clark School is giving back to the Casie Center to help those in need in the winter months.
Students in the lower school have collected hats, mittens, scarves and other winter gear for donation. On Wednesday, representatives from the Casie Center stopped by the school to pick up the winter weather goods.
The students and staff of Stanley Clark say it is important to remember what the holiday season really is about.
“We understand that there are a lot of people less fortunate than us and we wanted to help the Casie Center to help keep them warm in the winter,” says Lily Adams a 4th grader at Stanley Clark.
According to the head of Stanley Clark Lower School, Maria Reilly, “We talk to them about the things that they like, they have, so they bring in Pokemon hats and princess hats and they think about they feel fortunate enough to have. And they're so proud of themselves and they should be.”
The school held an assembly to present the collected goods to the center, during which students performed a “thank you song,” for those who work at the Casie Center.
