Eight customers still holding out on new Elkhart sewer policy

Elkhart, Ind. There's now only a handful of sewer customers outside the Elkhart city limits holding out against the new policy.

Mayor Dick Moore says three customers, who opposed the compact, have signed on rather than face possible disconnections, according to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth.

There are now only eight customers who are holding out.

But even a few of them are reading over the plan.

The new sewer law reduced monthly residential sewer fees from $50 to $35.

But some residents say there are still bad feelings between them and the city.
