No one was injured in an early morning fire that burnt down Bass Lake bar, the Sandbar.
Heavy smoke and flames consumed the bar after the blaze broke out early this morning, sending a call to emergency personnel just before 4:30 a.m. central time.
The Starke County Fire Marshal spent hours on the scene today to determine what exactly caused the fire.
The building does have extensive damage, the fire did considerable damage to the roof of the bar.
According to its Facebook page, the Sandbar has gone by other names in the past such as the Last Call, Key West, and Sandpiper. It has been a well-known watering hole for years in Starke County.
