WHEATON, Ill. (AP) - A Naperville woman charged in the stabbing deaths of her young son and a girl she was babysitting is set to become the first Chicago-area defendant to be filmed in court.
And the judge, attorneys and news crews are set to review what the cameras will look and sound like.
On Tuesday, a day before Elzbieta Plackowska's (elz-BEE'-tah plah-KOW'-skuhz) arraignment, the judge will hold what amounts to a rehearsal for DuPage County's first televised and photographed hearing.
The county is among several to take part in an Illinois Supreme Court pilot program that Cook County may join by the end of the year.
Television cameras have been allowed in courts around the country for years - the most famous example occurring 17 years ago during the O.J. Simpson murder trial.
