Police say dozens of tires on cars sitting outside homes in a Lafayette neighborhood were punctured early Monday, probably by someone using an ice pick.

Lafayette police Officer Tom Maxson told the Journal & Courier that he counted a few dozen cars with flat tires in the Southlea neighborhood early Monday. So far no one has reported seeing anyone hanging around the cars.

Ray Thomas said the tires on his Jeep Cherokee were new and it would cost about $120 to buy a replacement.
