According to organizers, Downtown South Bend is the place to be for all things Irish this St. Patrick's Day.
From 21 plus to fun for all ages, events will run Friday through Sunday.
Downtown South Bend Inc. is hosting the 11th annual Tent Party and Pub Tour. It runs from 5-11 p.m. The party includes festive drinks and food and will feature live music from Stillshot, The Bergamot, The Moxie Strings, DJ Eric Street and Brickhouse Burlesque. It all happens at 350 South Michigan Street, on the corner of Wayne and South Michigan streets. You must be 21 to enter, and general admission is $5
The Bergamot joined the Newscenter 16 morning crew at Fiddler's Hearth Wednesday morning for a preview of what's to come. As South Bend natives, the band says they are excited to be back and perform music full of South Bend history. The Bergamot were winners of the Bud Light Battle of the Bands and opened for musicians Pitbull and Flo Rida.
Events continue through the weekend, on Saturday there will be a Gaelic Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Family-friendly events are happening all day long including the 15th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade at 11 a.m. and the Greening of the East Race at noon.
New this year is the first annual "Leprechaun Chase on the Race."
