Easter may still be a week away but that didn't stop dozens of families from hopping around downtown South Bend for an early celebration.
Saturday morning, downtown attractions and businesses opened their doors for the annual Egg Stravaganza..
The day was filled with fun activities for kids of all ages. From a bunny breakfast to face painting to horse-drawn wagon rides.
There was even a little friendly competition outside the former College Football Hall Of Fame where youngsters took part in sack and egg races on the gridiron.
And parents say best part was that none of the festivities cost them a dime.
“Everything here is free which is very wonderful,” explained Agnes Skretkowicz who brought her daughter to the event. “People can come out here with all of their children. Everything is fun and friendly. There are many, many activities. Something for everybody of every age, so it's great times over here in downtown.”
And there were a few new additions to this year's event.
The South Bend Chocolate Café debuted its Bunny Dome, a magical world filled with colorful grass, eggs and, of course, the bunny himself.
