Water could soon be cut off to some residents of an Elkhart county subdivision.

For years they've received Elkhart’s city water and sewer services and paid three times the regular rate.
Recently Elkhart enforced a new compact fee on the subdivision that charges each homeowner $50 a month, plus the regular rate.
The Elkhart Truth reports that the city set a deadline of last Friday for hold-out residents to sign the agreement, or they say they will begin turning off services Wednesday.
