CROWN POINT, Ind. A northwestern Indiana student who has lived all over the world will represent the state at the National Geographic Bee again.

Eighth-grader Sean Ives will compete in the 26th annual contest May 19-21 in Washington, D.C.

Ives attends Trinity Evangelical Lutheran School in Crown Point, near Gary. Born in Valparaiso, he's also lived in Serbia and Slovakia. This is his second year competing.

The top 10 finalists will compete for a $50,000 college scholarship. Second place earns $25,000, and the third-place winner will take home $10,000.

Last year's winning question asked participants to name the farthest point from Earth's center, the summit of a peak in Ecuador. The answer is Chimborazo.
