Some 80 Republican precinct committee members gathered in South Bend to reorganize the St. Joseph County GOP and gear up for another four years.
GOP Chairwoman, Deb Fleming was re-elected unanimously in Saturday’s meeting. Fleming has been named number 48 on Howey Politics Power 50 List of influential players in Indiana politics.
Besides her chairwoman status, Fleming is also the District 2 Republican Vice-Chair as well as a dentist in Mishawaka.
Fleming thanked the crowd of Republicans for not only re-electing her, but other notable Republicans including Congresswoman Jackie Walorski.
“It was quite an impressive result,” Fleming said, “Unfortunately, we cannot afford to sit back and relax. Our success will lead to even more hard work as the other party will do all it can to win back the seats we have won.”
Indiana University graduate, Stefen Wynn, was elected as vice-chairman. While long-time party volunteer, Frank Fotia was elected as Secretary. The local GOP retained Peter Norton as treasurer and Jake Teshka as the party’s executive director.
The Elkhart Republicans also announced the launching of a new website at Saturday morning’s meeting.
