Confusion surrounds a construction project on U.S 35 north of Knox, as no permits have been filed with officials to start work.
According to WKVI Radio, there have not been any permits filed in Starke County or in the city of Knox. The City Building Administrator, Greg Matt, says it looks like NIPSCO is building a substation, a job which not only requires a permit but a submission of the plans for the structure as well.
A NIPSCO spokesperson told WKVI that he would look into the matter further.
