Clinton looks to lend populist fire to Ind. Dems

Former President Bill Clinton is travelling to Indianapolis to rally Democrats as they look for a rare win in increasingly red Indiana.

Clinton will be campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Gregg and Democratic Senate candidate Joe Donnelly. Donnelly is locked in a tight race for Indiana's open Senate seat with Republican Richard Mourdock.

Clinton's appearance may be more likely to boost Donnelly over Mourdock next month, but the former president has maintained contact with Gregg since they campaigned for Hillary Clinton across the state in 2008. Clinton headlined a fundraiser for Gregg last year shortly after he kicked off his campaign.

Clinton has been travelling the nation for Democrats recently. The former president has gotten immensely more popular in public polling since he left office a dozen years ago.
