City councilman offers reward for stolen property

ELKHART A landlord who's also a city council member is offering a reward for some stolen property.

David Henke says one of his tenants broke a garage window and stole a lawn tractor, push mower and weed eater. He says the tenants also moved out without paying $1,400 in rent.

The Elkhart Truth reports that Henke is offering a $250 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects. Anyone with information can contact Elkhart police.
