Interested in seeing what it’s like to be a police officer?

Well a few dozen people spent Tuesday night learning all about police procedures and getting the inside scoop about life as an officer at South Bend’s Citizens Police Academy.

Students of the “academy” had to chance to ask questions and learn about police procedures. Many students, interested in police work, said the academy is the first step to pursuing their dream career.

South Bend’s Citizens Police Academy is a free, nine-week program held twice a year. Prospective students must be 18 years-old and must be free of felony convictions.
