Man arrested for South Bend armed robbery

One man got a big scare behind the wheel after agreeing to give someone a ride.

The man arrived on the South Shore train from Chicago just after midnight yesterday.

As he was walking to the parking lot, another passenger asked if he could give him a lift to a part of town, and he agreed.

But, as they were going eastbound on Lincolnway West near Bendix the passenger pulled out a gun, pointed it at the man's chest and demanded the driver's wallet.

The driver started weaving in and out of lanes and eventually got the attention of a South Bend police officer.

Telly Bracey was taken into custody for armed robbery, possession of handgun without a permit and possession of marijuana.
