Elkhart Co., Ind. Formal charges were filed today against an Elkhart County man accused in a hit-and-run drunk driving crash last weekend.
Braxton Metcalf, 24, was arrested early Sunday morning after an officer saw the whole crime unfold.
Metcalf was speeding down CR38 when he ran a stop sign and slammed into a pick-up truck towing a trailer along SR 19.
The chain-reaction crash involved a total of three vehicles and left one of the drivers with a fractured spine and ankle.
Metcalf ran from the scene after the wreck but was tracked to a nearby field.
He was later found to have a blood alcohol level of .13.
Metcalf, who's already had three OWI convictions in the past, is now facing a long list of charges.
His initial hearing is scheduled for August 19.
