Car and school bus crash in Elkhart County

Dunlap, Ind. A car and a school bus have crashed into each other in Elkhart County Monday afternoon.

Police were called out to U.S. 33 between County Road 13 North and County Road 13 South around 4 p.m. in Dunlap.

The crash took place near Concord High School and brought traffic to a crawl around rush hour.

According to NewsCenter 16's reporting partner The Elkhart Truth, there were 24 kids in fifth and sixth grades from Concord Intermediate School on the bus when the crash happened at 3:31 p.m.

A black passenger car reportedly drifted into the left lane and hit the back end of the school bus.

The driver and passenger in that vehicle were not injured and the car towed away from the scene.
