Bark for Life aims to raise funds for American Cancer Society

Bark for Life is a Relay for Life fundraising event that honors the care-giving qualities of canine companions. Bark for Life gives participants the opportunity to honor cancer survivors and remember those who have lost thier fight with the disease.

It's going on Saturday, April 13, at Howard Park in South Bend. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and opening ceremonies take place at 2 p.m. The walk and activities will go on, rain or shine, until 5 p.m.

Registration fees will raise support and funds for the American Cancer Society, promoting their mission statement, to create more birthdays by helping people stay well, get well and find cures.
