Elkhart County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the fourth armed robbery at a tobacco store in Elkhart County in last eight days.
At around 7 p.m. Saturday, two men, armed with a shotgun, robbed Stogie’s Discount Tobacco in the 30,000-block of Old US 20.
The suspects entered the store and ordered the cashier to get on the ground. Just as in the previous three cigarette store robberies, the suspects took an unknown amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes. They also took the cashier’s purse before they left the store and drove off in an unknown vehicle.
Witnesses say the suspect wielding the shotgun was wearing a tan jacket, gloves, and had a bandana covering his face. The second suspect is described as a white man wearing a black winter jacket, black baseball hat, with a black bandana covering his face.
Investigators are once again asking for the public’s help in identifying the robbers. Anyone with information should contact the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 533-4151.
