Police kept busy in the greater Michiana area over the weekend with chase scenes straight from Hollywood.

A 27-year-old woman is behind bars in the Van Buren County jail after dragging a police officer along with her car while trying to flee the scene.

The woman gave a Hartford Police officer a fake, out-of-state, driver's license after being pulled over near Hartford. When questioned, she fled, dragging the officer along with her 1998 Oldsmobile.

The officer called for help, and the woman attempted to ram assisting officers’ police cars along Red Arrow Highway. She eventually crashed into a ditch, and police found her hiding in the bushes.

The driver, whose name has not been released, is held on charges of fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing officers, and assault on a police officer. Police suspect she was under the influence of some sort of drugs at the time.

The officer was not seriously injured in the incident.

Meanwhile a Chicago woman faces multiple charges after fleeing Indiana State Police.

32-year-old Ayesha Crawford drove her Yukon up the back of a flat-bed trailer and off the side while trying to outrun police on I-80 near Hobart.

Three children, ages 10, 6 and 5, were inside the car at the time.

Crawford has been charged with driving while intoxicated, among other crimes.
