A local retailer is offering a class that could help relieve holiday vacation boredom by getting creative with duct tape.
Artists at “Made in Michiana” in downtown South Bend say the class is not only a great bonding experience for families, but it is also a way to create inexpensive, handmade holiday presents.
Duct tape is relatively inexpensive, and a single roll ranges from three to 10 dollars and comes in a variety of colors and patterns. The artists say one roll can go a long way.
The organizers at “Made in Michiana” say participants will get a chance to exercise their creative sides even if it is just for the evening’s hands-on class.
“There’s so much talent in our community, there is. We have just been amazed at the people we've met and have yet to meet that are creative,” says Jackie Bauer, partner and Art Director at “Made in Michiana.”
Bauer says the class is open to kids and parents of all ages, “they love to do it and we're amazed at how creative they can be.”
Purses, wallets, jewelry and napkin rings are just some of the things class attendees can make at the event. The duct tape class will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at “Made in Michiana” located behind the South Bend Chocolate Factory.
