Party Permit Plan scheduled to go before SB Common Council

The much talked about and much delayed party permit plan is again scheduled to go before South Bend's Common Council Monday.

The Council is holding a special meeting Monday at 6pm to hear comments and hopefully give an up or down vote.

According to the permit, as it was originally written, the proposed plan would require people living in some neighborhoods to obtain a permit whenever they hold a party with more than 25 people if alcohol is being served.

Moreover, the bill includes a proposal to allow lawn parking for a fee.
