Notre Dame season opener brings economic boost

It will be an all-too familiar sight, as ticket-sellers will be out all around Notre Dame Stadium.

Businesses in and around Michiana will see a big boost with all the money that Notre Dame fans spend in the area.

Hotels for miles around hike up the prices and see capacity crowds every home football weekend. South Bend alone sees an economic jump by the millions each Irish season.

The Visitor's Bureau estimates that each home game brings in 6.3 million dollars for the local economy.
