The Rum Village Neighborhood Association collected old tires in South Bend Wednesday.
The project allowed people to get rid of their old tires without having to pay a disposal fee, which also helped clean area neighborhoods.
According to the association, many people in the area are lazy and make others clean up after them.
"There an eyesore, I mean nobody can get rid of them, they are not going to pay to get rid of them. So they get their tires changed and say I'll take them with me and then they go dump them down an alley then everybody else has to clean up after them," said Mark Vanator.
For their next project, the Rum Village Association wants to team up with the city to start renovating abandoned homes.
