Conservation officers say an 80-year-old northern Indiana man was seriously injured when he fell from a tree stand while deer hunting.
Carl Folk Jr. fell about 24 feet when he lost his balance and fell about 7:30 a.m. Saturday as he was attempting to climb down from the tree stand after legal hunting hours.
The Journal Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/Uvwe6e ) that the Ligonier man suffered the fall in southeastern Steuben County as his son was helping him leave the stand and step onto a ladder leading to ground.
Folk was listed in a serious condition Sunday afternoon at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
