State highway officials say eastbound lanes of Interstate 465 are expected to reopen in time for Monday morning's rush hour following last week's tanker truck explosion on Indianapolis' northeast side.
The state Department of Transportation says the two right lanes of eastbound I-465 are expected to reopen at midnight Sunday from U.S. 31 to 56th Street.
But the left eastbound lane over the eastbound bridge and the Interstate 69 southbound ramp to I-465 southbound will remain closed through midweek as crews continue repair work.
On Thursday, a propane tanker truck exploded on an I-69 ramp, knocking out one of 45 concrete support columns. The accident snarled traffic on Indianapolis' northeast side in a corridor that averages more than 150,000 vehicles a day.
