An Indiana University music student who died in a plane crash nearly three years ago is being remembered with two new fellowship programs.
IU's Jacobs School of Music says the programs are being funded by a $1 million gift from the Georgina Joshi Foundation.
One of the fellowships will pay for a Jacobs School graduate's study at the Royal College of Music in London, from which Joshi graduated. The other will be awarded to a graduate student to assist with full-time study in the Jacobs School.
Joshi was a 24-year-old IU graduate student from South Bend when the small plane she was piloting crashed near Bloomington in April 2006 after a rehearsal for a concert in West Lafayette. She and four other music students died in the crash.
