Authorities say it was foggy and misty about the time that a small plane crashed near a southeastern Indiana airport, killing all four people who were aboard.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the crash happened Sunday evening about a mile from the Greensburg Municipal Airport. The FAA says the plane had been cleared to approach the airport but then never arrived.
Greensburg police Detective Bill Meyerrose says the weather conditions hampered the search for the wreckage, which wasn't found until about four hours after the crash was reported. The plane crashed in a wooded area about 40 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
The single-engine Piper is registered to a Greensburg man but authorities didn't immediately release information about the victims.
