An Indianapolis police officer is accused of paying a prostitute for sex, while in uniform.

James Ingalls made his initial court appearance Wednesday.

Police says he picked up a prostitute and drove to Garden City Elementary School to have sex.

Ingalls worked there part-time as a security guard.

According to court documents, the two met on several occasions, and Ingalls would often warn the prostitute about upcoming police crime sweeps.

Ingalls faces two charges, including felony misconduct.
