A new statewide poll shows Indiana voters overwhelmingly oppose the 700 billion-dollar government bailout of the financial industry.
The WISH-TV Indiana Poll released tonight says 62 percent disapprove of the bailout plan while 31 percent favor it. Seven percent say they're not sure.
An even larger majority -- 72 percent -- say taxpayer money shouldn't be used to protect private companies from financial losses. Seventeen percent say it should while 11 percent aren't sure. At the same time, 58 percent of those surveyed said the government should protect the home mortage industry, and 56 percent supported government aid to individual mortage holders facing foreclosure.
The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
