A jury has acquitted the son of state Rep. Richard McClain of felony charges in a shooting that left another man wounded.
Jurors found 37-year-old Jeff McClain not guilty of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury.
Police say McClain got into an argument with a neighbor following a party on July 5th. The neighbor, 37-year-old Shawn Campbell, was shot in the foot outside McClain's Logansport home. Campbell has since been released from the hospital.
McClain testified he fired only after Campbell threatened his life and ran toward him.
The jury acquitted him Friday.
His father, Rep. Richard McClain, is a Republican who's seeking re-election.
