Wabash College plans memorial for student who died

Wabash College is planning a memorial service for an 18-year-old freshman found dead in a fraternity house over the weekend.

Johnny D. Smith, of Tucson, Ariz., was found unconscious Sunday morning at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say alcohol was possibly involved. The Montgomery County coroner is waiting until toxicology results are available in a few weeks before releasing the findings of an autopsy conducted Wednesday.

Wabash College in Crawfordsville planned a memorial service Thursday in Pioneer Chapel. The all-male, liberal arts school of 900 students and is about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
