LOWELL, Ind. Authorities are using dental records and DNA to identify two people found slain in a home in northwestern Indiana.

Lake County Sheriff John Buncich says investigators have a person of interest they're looking for in connection with the slayings discovered Friday afternoon near Lowell in an unincorporated area of the county. Lowell is about 20 miles south of Gary.

The (Munster) Times and the Post-Tribune report the two bodies were decomposing.

Buncich says officers received a request for a welfare check at the home before finding the bodies.
