Campaign aims to curb underage drinking

A new underage drinking campaign is warning adults that giving alcohol to minors is a crime.

The sticker campaign, "Serve Kids—Serve Time" is a warning to adults that they'll be held criminally responsible if they serve minors any alcohol.

"Adults think that they have a right to provide alcohol to their children or to other minors in their own homes but let us be very clear they do not have such a right, and it is in fact a crime,” said St. Joe County Prosecutor Michael Dvorak.

Over 40,000 people have been working with the Indiana Excise Police to distribute the brochures and stickers.

There's also a hotline you can call or text if you have information on underage drinking at 574-217-5150.
