Police investigate an abduction in South Bend

St. Joseph County Police are investigating a frightening story of abduction.

Police say just before 4 A.M. a 25-year old woman was found at the Linebacker Lounge in South Bend, saying she had just been abducted from her apartment on Generations Drive.

The victim said she was sleeping when two unknown male suspects, dressed in dark clothes kicked in the door and ransacked the apartment.

The men then abducted the woman, tied her arms and legs and put her in a trunk of vehicle.

The suspects drove to the 1300 block of White Oak Drive in South Bend, opened the trunk and told the woman not to get out until they were gone; the men then took off on foot.

The woman escaped the trunk and ran to the Linebacker Lounge where witnesses called police.

The woman was treated and released by paramedics.

Police say two young children were sleeping in the apartment while the incident took place.

Neither woke up during the abduction and both were unharmed.

Police continue to investigate and say no suspects are in custody at this time.
