Indiana GOP picks AG candidate

Greg Zoeller is the Republican nominee for Indiana attorney general.
Republicans picked Zoeller over Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas Monday at the state GOP Convention.

Zoeller is the chief deputy of outgoing Attorney General Steve Carter, who is not running for another term.

Zoeller received 1,061 votes to 707 for Costas, who was endorsed by Governor Mitch Daniels. It was the only contested race for the state GOP ticket.

Zoeller, who is from New Albany, will likely face Indianapolis attorney Linda Pence in the fall. The state's Democratic convention is June 21st, and she's the only one seeking the nomination for attorney general.

The Republican delegates also nominated Tony Bennett for superintendent of public instruction. They also re-nominated Becky Skillman for lieutenant governor.
