Authorities are looking for a Chicago man accused of attempting to kill his wife on their honeymoon after she refused his demand for a specific sex act.

Thirty-seven-year-old Jose Cuevas Jr. is accused of attacking Marbelin Jeronimo during their honeymoon last Friday at a Merrillville Days Inn. He's accused of holding her head underwater in a hot tub and biting flesh off her arm.

Cuevas initially was charged with domestic battery when he was arrested at the hotel and released on bond. But he didn't show up in court Tuesday when the charges were upgraded.

Cuevas told police that his wife attacked him and that he was trying to defend himself. Police said, however, there were no marks on Cuevas.
