The Marion County prosecutor says blood from 10 different people was found inside the truck cab of a suspected serial killer.
One of the victims is believed to be an Indianapolis woman, and prosecutor Carl Brizzi says 56-year-old Bruce Mendenhall of Albion, Illinois, has been charged with murder in the death last summer of 31-year-old Carma Purpura.
The woman's body has never been found. But Brizzi says DNA tests link some of the blood from Mendenhall's truck cab to the woman's parents. Investigators also found her cell phone, ATM card and clothing she wore on the day she disappeared.
Brizzi says the cab of Mendenhall's truck was "literally awash with blood."
Mendenhall also is charged with murder in the deaths of women whose bodies were found in Nashville and Lebanon, Tennessee, and in Birmingham, Alabama. He's being held at the Davidson County Jail in Tennessee.
