State police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who critically injured a 5-year-old boy as he rode on his tricycle near his southwest Indiana home.

Police say Codie Pusey suffered head, chest and internal injuries and is in a coma at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

The accident occurred Tuesday evening on a county road in Carlisle, about 35 miles south of Terre Haute.

Police describe the vehicle as red passenger car, with possibly some customization to the lower body and a spoiler on the trunk. It had fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror and a loud exhaust. Police say it should have front end and windshield damage.

Anyone with information on the car should call state police.
