State environmental officials will meet in Indianapolis April 29th to discuss a proposed water quality rule.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management's current rule covers only northern Indiana rivers or streams that are part of the Great Lakes watershed; the new rule will cover all of the state's waterways.

At this month's meeting, IDEM staff will give a presentation on the intent of the proposed regulations, followed by a comment period to allow stakeholders to suggest changes. IDEM staff will respond to those comments at another meeting next month.
