A candidate for governor wants the state to offer incentives for small businesses to provide health coverage and increase preventive screenings at schools.
Democrat Jim Schellinger says he also wants to expand a program to help states provide health insurance to children from lower-income families and to look for ways to get more eligible children enrolled in the program in Indiana.
Schellinger is the president of an Indianapolis architecture firm. He'll face former U.S. Congresswoman Jill Long Thompson in the May 6th primary.
Long Thompson campaign manager Travis Lowe says Schellinger's plan would create more government bureaucracy.
