In a new television ad, Indiana Democratic Senator Evan Bayh says that Hillary Rodham Clinton has "a spine of steel."
The 30 second ad is the first to be broadcast by the Clinton campaign in Indiana ahead of the May 6th primary.
The spot ends with a photo of Bayh and Clinton, hands clasped aloft at a rally.
Bayh considered making a presidential bid himself, and patrons at a Terre Haute cafe recently chanted "Bayh for vice" when the two made a joint appearance there.
Clinton has relied on popular surrogates in some of her key contests against Barack Obama. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland campaigned at her side in Ohio and Pennsylvania Govenor Ed Rendell has been outspoken in support of her leading up to that state's April 21st primary.
