An Evansville high school was locked down Thursday after a former student with a gun was spotted on its grounds.
Police say no shots were fired at Reitz High School and no one was injured.
A spokeswoman for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation says police arrested a former student who is currently enrolled at an alternative high school in the district.
Police officer Patrick Phernetton, the school liaison officer for Reitz, says the boy is 16 years old and was armed with a shotgun.
Police Chief Brad Hill says he never entered the school.
Classes are scheduled as normal today.
