An Indianapolis woman whose boyfriend was convicted of beating her 4-year-old son to death has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for neglect.

Prosecutors say Elijah Simpson was already dead when 25-year-old Courtney Simpson took him to a hospital.

Simpson's boyfriend, Christopher Montgomery, was convicted last week of murder and neglect in the child's 2007 death.

Simpson testified during the trial that she didn't seek medical help for her son for hours because Montgomery threatened her. She later pleaded guilty.

Authorities said Montgomery threw Elijah against a wall, fracturing his skull, because the boy was sucking his thumb.

Montgomery is scheduled to be sentenced March 12th.
