Conservation officers have recovered the body of a man who died while swimming to retrieve a boat that had floated away from shore at a southwest Indiana reservoir.
The victim was identified only as a 28-year-old Bloomington resident.
Conservation officers say the man and a companion were returning from fishing Sunday afternoon at the Green-Sullivan State Forest Reservoir 29 when the wind blew their boat away from the ramp.
A second boater saw the man swimming toward the boat before he went under.
Conservation officers used sonar to locate the man's body in about 21 feet of water about 80 yards from the boat ramp.
The reservoir is on the Green-Sullivan county line, about 40 miles southwest of Bloomington.
