Indianapolis police shot and killed a man after he pulled a gun on officers.
Thirty-four-year-old Juan Arreola of Indianapolis suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene last night.
When Arreola got out of his car during a traffic stop last night, he began to pull a handgun from his waistband, and two officers struggled with him for control of the weapon.
One of the officers, Patrolman Jason Ross, then used his own gun to shoot Arreola.
Ross had stopped Arreola for not having a license tag in plain view, and when he noticed the motorist acting nervous, he called for backup. Patrolman Andrew Hannaford arrived on the scene to help Ross.
