The Marion County Prosecutor says he'll seek life sentences without parole for the mother of a 3-year-old girl and the woman's live-in boyfriend, who are charged with murder and neglect in the girl's death.

Police arrested Charity Bailey and Lawrence Green yesterday in the death of TaJanay Bailey in the couple's Indianapolis apartment. Both are being held without bond in the Marion County Jail.

Prosecutor Carl Brizzi says the girl was "systematically tortured" by both Bailey and Green.

The Indiana Department of Child Services had returned the girl to her mother last month after she had lived much of her life with a foster mother.

A Child Services spokeswoman says they are investigating the case and preparing a response.
