Hoosier soldier dies in Iraq

Residents in one southeast Indiana town are mourning the death of a hometown soldier.

Sergeant Kenneth Booker, of Vevay, was killed last Wednesday in Iraq.

The 25-year-old died of wounds suffered when a bomb exploded near his vehicle.

Booker's father says the family was told his vehicle was hit by a new form of I.E.D. while on patrol.

His mother learned of his death Thursday, the same day she had mailed a Christmas package to him.
