Governor Daniels says Hoosiers will get winter heating help

Some extra heating help will keep more Hoosiers toasty this winter.

Governor Mitch Daniels says the state expects to have 56 million dollars available to help needy residents with their heating bills.

The money is being offered through the Energy Assistance Program.

This year NIPSCO, Vectren, and Citizens Gas will launch an effort using their own money to provide about two million dollars in additional aid.

Last year, Indiana spent about 44 million dollars to help 143,000 households.
